On robust estimation of negative binomial INARCH models

چکیده
Abstract We discuss robust estimation of INARCH models for count time series, where each observation conditionally on its past follows a negative binomial distribution with constant scale parameter, and the conditional mean depends linearly previous observations. develop several estimators, some them being computationally fast modifications methods moments, rather efficient maximum likelihood. These estimators are compared to related recent proposals using simulations. The usefulness proposed is illustrated by real data example.

Estimation of Count Data using Bivariate Negative Binomial Regression Models
Abstract Negative binomial regression model (NBR) is a popular approach for modeling overdispersed count data with covariates. Several parameterizations have been performed for NBR, and the two well-known models, negative binomial-1 regression model (NBR-1) and negative binomial-2 regression model (NBR-2), have been applied. Another parameterization of NBR is negative binomial-P regression mode...
متن کاملInformation and Estimation over Binomial and Negative Binomial Models
In recent years, a number of results have been developed which connect information measures and estimation measures under various models, including, predominently, Gaussian and Poisson models. More recent results due to Taborda and Pérez-Cruz relate the relative entropy to certain mismatched estimation errors in the context of binomial and negative binomial models, where, unlike in the case of ...
متن کاملNegative Binomial Regression Models and Estimation Methods
The Poisson-Gamma model has properties that are very similar to the Poisson model discussed in Appendix C, in which the dependent variable i y is modeled as a Poisson variable with a mean i where the model error is assumed to follow a Gamma distribution. As it names implies, the Poisson-Gamma is a mixture of two distributions and was first derived by Greenwood and Yule (1920). This mixture di...
متن کاملNegative binomial additive models.
The generalized additive model is extended to handle negative binomial responses. The extension is complicated by the fact that the negative binomial distribution has two parameters and is not in the exponential family. The methodology is applied to data involving DNA adduct counts and smoking variables among ex-smokers with lung cancer. A more detailed investigation is made of the parametric r...
متن کاملBayesian Estimation in Shared Compound Negative Binomial Frailty Models
Frailty models are used in survival analysis to model unobserved heterogeneity. To study such heterogeneity by the inclusion of a random term called the frailty is assumed to multiply hazards of all subjects in the shared frailty. We study compound negative binomial distribution as frailty distribution and two different baseline distributions namely Pareto and linear failure rate distribution i...
